Muriel Beckett has been inspired by and engrossed in the craft of hand weaving throughout the many different stages of her career as a professional weaver.

Her main loves are weaving rugs and wall hangings. Having recently spent time in studying and researching for fresh ideas, she now wants to develop these ideas into a portfolio of new work with a view to having an exhibition within the next year or two. Her current inspiration is the landscape, primarily an exploration of colour, using the patterns and textures of weaving with yarns as her tools for self expression.

An award from the Golden Fleece would enable her to invest more time into developing her new work, to buy necessary materials, and to refurbish her studio.
