Adeline Dolan has over thirty years' experience of spinning, weaving and dyeing and has won a number of awards and scholarships for her work.

In particular, she has amassed hundreds of samples of natural dyed colours from her own recipes. She works from season to season collecting all kinds of natural dyeing sources. She feels she has unique experience in the field of Irish natural dyes which should be recorded and made available to the public as there is very little printed information extant in this area. This is important as the need for recording vegetable and natural dyes and the plant names and species from which they come is becoming more pressing because of the the changing environment and world in which we live today.

An award from the Golden Fleece would help her to pursue her idea of recording in book form all her experience and expertise in vegetable dyeing in combination with spinning.
