Fiona Dowling comes of an Irish - French background. She lives and works in Dublin, making small scale paintings in oil on canvas. The main inspiration for her work "has always been my own story and memories", told through still images, portraits or slightly surreal and poetic paintings with lyrical colours".

She took part in the latest "Emerging Artists" exhibition in the Ashford Gallery and has two solo shows planned for the coming year.

The funding "could greatly help me support myself while developing my art practice instead of seeing my time and energy eaten up by too many part time jobs".
