Clare Grennan creates jewellery from a variety of contemporary materials including plastics and synthetics. She is experimenting with taking 'trashy' themes based on holiday souvenirs (boiled sweets, postcards...) and transforming them into innovative designs.

Her work has already won her the Reserve Award of Excellence at the annual Crafts Council of Ireland National Crafts Competition held at the RDS.

Money won from the award would enable her to invest in machinery and tools.
