Claire Kerr graduated from the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology with outstanding results in 2001. Since then she has featured in a number of group and one-person exhibitions including appearing as Invited Artist at the R.H.A Annual Exhibition on a number of occasions. She is currently preparing for a one-person exhibition at the Purdy Hicks Gallery on London in Autumn 2007.

Her works engage with the possibilities of Narrative in representational painting and explore the way in which painting can itself "represent" other media, whether traditional or more recent (television, video). She paints on a small scale using a very precise technique, with the aim of drawing in the viewer to engage with the painted surface and establish as close a relationship as possible with the various facets of the images she creates.

She is seeking financial support to allow her to dedicate herself fully to completing a substantial body of work for her upcomng exhibition, and to enable her to travel to the Hague and Amsterdam to study the techniques of the 17th century Dutch master painters.
