Laura MAYS designs and makes furniture from different woods. She uses traditional methods to make "pieces that are modern in form and attitude".

She has recently completed 2 years studying woodworking ideas and techniques under James Krenov in California. Her work has been exhibited in Ireland, England and California.

She would like money to upgrade her workshop by purchasing equipment and machinery, and "to ease off from the pressure of work and write a short book".
