Project

My work is concerned with painting on found surfaces, such as objects bought in charity shops and cardboard boxes. Funding would allow me to continue this work, helping me towards paying the rent for my studio, and buying objects from charity shops. It would also allow me to diversify my artistic practice by way of publishing artists' books (ie works of art realised in the form of a book). I wrote my thesis on artists' books and since then it has always been an avenue that I would like to pursue, as it would make my ideas accessible to a wider audience.

Artist Statement

My artistic vision is to explore the expressive possibilities of using less conventional materials to create art. Through the manipulation of found objects, my work addresses environmental issues and consumer habits, for example, packaging and recycling. I aim to create work with an artless sincerity, that provokes thought and humour in everyday objects.
