David Quinn has worked at home as a full time painter
ever since graduating from NCAD fifteen years ago, and
has built up a "small but loyal following for and
interest in my work". His paintings have been shown
in a number of individual and group exhibitions.
His work draws its sustenance from his immediate environment:
his home in rural Mayo, the town lands surrounding it,
and his family. In this setting he is at his happiest
and most productive and can take inspiration from "the
particular atmosphere of intimacy and familiarity which
interests me".
He needs money to help carry out his plan to build
a permanent studio to improve his working environment.
When realized, this project will "dramatically
change my working life for the better" and thereby
greatly benefit his practice as a painter.
