Keith Wilson is a committed professional artist who makes his living by regularly exhibiting paintings and drawings. His work has featured in a range of group and solo exhibitions, and he has another solo exhibition planned in October 2008 at the Cavehill Gallery in Belfast at which he hopes to present a new and independent group of works of art.

In his work, he is interested in emphasising a stillness and tranquillity, ignoring the spectacular and getting closer to the more ordinary aspects of a particular place and capturing its essence.

The award would allow him the time to concentrate on a detailed and prolonged period of creation, and lend the financial assistance to achieve professional presentation of the resulting work.
