2019 Golden Fleece Award
Nuala O'Donovan
Nuala O'Donovan makes delicate sculptural pieces in porcelain based on the geometry of natural forms and fractal patterns.
The Award is open to practising artists and makers originally from or living and working on the island of Ireland in need of support at crucial points in their careers.
The Golden Fleece Award reaches right across the artistic spectrum. It is intended to support artists working in all forms of visual, craft and applied arts (including makers using new technologies to support creative processes and hands-on making).
The annual award is open to practising artists at any career stage (emerging, early/mid-career, established) who can demonstrate existing artistic merit and expertise in their chosen field, plus the vision/plans to advance their work to a new level.
Applicants may only apply once per Award cycle - for example, if you have both an individual practice and a collaborative practice, only one entry in which you are a named applicant can be made in a given year.
Applications will not normally be considered from students undertaking full-time study, and the Award cannot be used to support fees for postgraduate/higher education or study.
Winners of the main Golden Fleece Award are not eligible to reapply, but winners of lesser Awards (Merit, Special Awards, Commendations), and all other previous entrants, are welcome to do so.
Applicants should be resident in, or originally from, the island of Ireland.
