Ciara Hickey appointed to the Golden Fleece Award's Advisory Panel

The Trustees of the Golden Fleece Award are delighted to announce that independent curator Ciara Hickey is joining the Golden Fleece Trust's Advisory Panel.

Ciara joins the Panel as a visual arts specialist, succeeding outgoing Advisory Panel member Hugh Mulholland. Hugh completed his customary three-year term on the Panel between 2023 and 2025. The Trustees of the Award are immensely grateful to him for his dedication, expertise and support over the years, and wish him well with his own work in the future.

Ciara Hickey is a curator based in Belfast. She is co-director of Household, an arts organisation that supports the production of high quality art in the public realm that connects people and place. She was previously curator of the Freelands Artist Programme through PS2 and curator at Belfast Exposed. Recent projects include Red Sky at Night, a night time festival of international commissions across the city of Belfast (2024) and UPHOLD, a not-for-profit commissioning platform for promoting and selling contemporary art.

The Golden Fleece Award Advisory Panel consists of six industry experts who review applications received for the Golden Fleece Award and make recommendations to the Trustees on how they feel the Award should be distributed in a given year. Ciara joins current Panel members ClĂodhna Shaffrey (Chair), Sara Flynn, Joe Hogan, Stephen O'Connell, and Niamh O'Malley.
